IFAS: Click, Drag, and Drill

Make informed decisions quickly with Click, Drag, and Drill (CDD). CDD allows you to access data within IFAS, from summary level to individual transaction detail. Create reports quickly with the information you need using CDD’s “point and click” report definitions. CDD also supports linked “drill down” reports, allowing you to investigate transactions interactively from your desktop. View scanned documents that are associated with transactions utilizing CDD’s imaging support. CDD may be used with any ODBC-supported, relational database.

Features

  • Nickname data elements so that the names are meaningful to your organization via CDD’s AKA (Also Known As) feature.
  • Define multiple regions in a single report so that comprehensive reports may be easily created.
  • Double-click on a retrieved data element to drill down to detailed levels. Designate pop up prompts to occur prior to the drill down. For instance, if drilling down to transaction level details from the master level report, the user may be prompted for a date range.
  • Design visual impact into a report with multiple fonts, pitches, and colors.
  • Insert total lines in a variety of regions on a report using comprehensive totaling and subtotaling logic. For instance, subtotals may be easily inserted at every sort break.
  • Create reports quickly by picking data elements while viewing the report format. To assist, a What-you-see-is-what-you-get (WYSIWYG) interface gives you instant feedback about how the report will look.
  • Easily identify linkages between tables.
  • Route report output to the screen or a printer. You may also route output to a file or export to popular spreadsheet software.
  • Perform calculations at the detail level and display the results at the total level using special “hidden” row and column elements.
  • Use complex selection criteria so that the report contains only information desired.
  • Produce full color charts and graphs based on report data.
  • Share designs by storing reports in a remote database. Folder-level security enforces access rights over reports.
  • Create new reports quickly and easily using report wizard.
  • Derived values may be defined based on rows, columns, rates, and constants so that values other than those stored in the database may be reported.
  • An unlimited number of sort levels may be defined to accommodate complex sorts.
  • VB Script macro language.
  • MS Office integration using automation objects.
  • Reusable reporting components using scriptlets and category macros.
  • User-selectable printers to accommodate a variety of outputs.

Web Deployment

CDD allows common IFAS reports to be World Wide Web based. This allows you to access IFAS at any time from the easy to use, intuitive user interface of an Internet Web browser. This also reduces the administrative overhead of having to connect individual users to IFAS, and licensing individual ODBC drivers for each client PC.

Security

The drawback of most reporting tools capable of accessing a database is that they cannot be used widely by end users since the security of data at all levels cannot be guaranteed. Click, Drag, and Drill has been implemented under control of SunGard Public Sector’s security which provides detailed security for all areas of IFAS.
