Services Documentation

SunGard Public Sector provides users with online documentation which allows for easy reference, customization to your site, and access of index information online. This documentation resides in the easy-to-use Adobe Acrobat format. SunGard Public Sector’s documentation consists of user guides, database conversion manuals, training materials, tutorials and other reference and resource materials.

Upon execution of a software license agreement, a complete copy of the IFAS user documentation is provided in electronic media via CD-ROM. Updated documentation is also available for download via our customer support website, IFAS Insider.

All documentation materials are routinely updated and revised; the documentation updates are scheduled to coincide with the software release schedule. These changes to the documentation (as well as changes made to the software) are tracked via SunGard Public Sector’s Internet Service Center (ISC).

Online help files for IFAS are easy to update using the comments and text update tools in Adobe Acrobat (purchased separately). The same is true of our user guide documentation. The Acrobat (PDF) format provides clients with help that is both stable and easy to use. Our documentation can be easily customized utilizing Acrobat’s sticky notes which allows you to identify specifically how the organization performs procedures within the software

In addition to the user documentation, IFAS has online help available throughout the system. Each screen provides F1 help by linking directly with the user documentation. This provides consistency between printed user guides and online help. Further information can be obtained from the client support website, IFAS Insider, and the user group's mailing listserv. SunGard Public Sector’s help desk is also available from 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM PST to answer specific questions. The support web page features a knowledge database, data dictionary, frequently asked questions and latest release versions of product documentation.
