User Community
By partnering with SunGard Public Sector, you join a large community of SunGard Public Sector users. You can join your colleagues at one of three annual user group meetings held in various locations around the nation. As part of the user community, you can share ideas and collaborate daily via our active listserv email forum. Also, you can sign up to receive our periodic newsletter, IFAS.txt, which provides information on new development efforts and “all things SunGard Public Sector”.
User Group
SunGard Public Sector’s clients formed the Bi-Tech Software National Users' Group (BSNUG) in 1985. BSNUG is governed by a board elected directly from the members. Each year, BSNUG offers you three opportunities to interact with your peers - two regional meetings and one national meeting.
The meetings offer presentations by SunGard Public Sector officers and sessions on specialized topics. In addition, attendees compile and vote on the IFAS enhancements they would most like to see developed. The result is a list of five enhancements which SunGard Public Sector personnel set out to accomplish during the next calendar year. These user group enhancements are provided to you as part of your maintenance agreement at no additional charge.
2008 BSNUG Schedule:
Western Regional Meeting April 9-11, 2008 - Keystone, CO
Eastern Regional Meeting May 14-16, 2008 - Charleston, SC
National Meeting October 1-4, 2008 - New York, NY
For more information on BSNUG, you can visit their website at http://www.bsnug.org
List Serv
BSNUG-TALK is a mailing list server that has been established specifically for the SunGard Public Sector user community and is hosted and maintained by a SunGard Public Sector client. You can ask questions or share your expertise on the day-to-day workings of IFAS with other users. The list is active, and you will often receive a response within minutes of submitting a posting.
Client Newsletter
SunGard Public Sector publishes a periodic newsletter, IFAS.txt, which is devoted to continuing lines of communication with our growing family of clients, advancement of the Bi-Tech National User Group, and improvement of our software products and support. Articles presented in the newsletter deal with expected enhancements, new software developments, and expanded services for our users. We also introduce readers to our new clients and let them know about the SunGard Public Sector employees behind the software.
